I love everything about this sketch by the talented Star Williams.

starwilliamsart:

I found a really old pencil sketch that I did of the heavenly beings in Ezekiel’s vision. I considered drawing it again because I know I can draw better than this now, but I know that whenever I try to redraw and old sketch that I like, I can never recreate what I liked about it. So I just decided to add a touch of color to it…

I know these beings seem unusual, but I did stick very closely to the description of them in scripture (in the first chapter of Ezekiel).

Don’t Lose Heart

“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’

“And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”

“Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:1-8 NKJV)

You will mess up, but you can receive God’s forgiveness and boldly come to God for His help!
Joyce Meyer, referring to Hebrews 4:14-16 (NKJV): “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Is It Impossible Now?

Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26 NKJV)

When Jesus says, “all things” He means all things. Some of you think Jesus’ words apply to everyone but you. That is a lie from the pit of hell, whispered in your ear by one of the devil’s lieutenants.

Remember what Jesus says in John 10:10 — “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

You know that longed-for dream that God has promised will come true for you? Recently for one of my readers from outside Tumblr, the devil has twisted the words and actions of a loved one to make you think you’ve been rejected, you were just a poor substitute, God has given your love to another, and your dream will never come true. Don’t you believe it. Listen to what God says:

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” (Numbers 23:19-20 NKJV)

Even if you’ve made mistakes, even if you sinned — consciously and deliberately — just yesterday, if God has promised you, He will fulfil your dream. If sin— any sin— is keeping you apart from God, remember: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9 NKJV)

After that? Pray. Thank God for what He’s done, remember what He’s promised to do, and ask in faith, knowing that, with your Heavenly Father, it’s not only possible, it’s assured.

What We’re All Looking For

“Show us Your mercy, Lord, And grant us Your salvation. I will hear what God the Lord will speak, For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly. Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven.” (Psalm 85:7-11 NKJV)

Grace and Truth

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

“John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ”

“And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.” (John 1:14-18 NKJV)

 Shout With Joy

“Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth! Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” (Psalm 100:1-5 NLT)

Truth and Justice

“[T]his is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace. Don’t scheme against each other. Stop your love of telling lies that you swear are the truth. I hate all these things, says the LORD.” (Zechariah 8:16-17 NLT)

Post-Milennial Truth

God is not a cruel God. He does not create us a certain way and then say, “Too bad, human, it’s a sin to do what I created you for, now go live in confusion and hurt while people gossip about you, betray, and then abandon you. And believe I’m in on it when they assault, and murder you in defiance of My name.”

If God says something is a sin, that means He did not create you to do it. Anybody who pressures you to believe otherwise is the devil’s mouthpiece. Yes, God testifies that there’s a devil, and that the devil hates you so much that he’s made it his mission to accuse you, lie to you, steal from you, kill you, and destroy every good thing.

If you are hurting, uncertain, angry at God, or doubting His nature and very existence, there is hope, love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and peace for you. All God asks is that you call out to Him for deliverance through the Holy Spirit which, BTW, is absolutely free. This lengthy passage from Romans makes clear what God does otherwise — for a long list of sins that look an awful lot like what our culture considers hip and enlightened.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

“Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

“Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

“For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1:18-32 NKJV)
