Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart. You share with me the special favor of God, both in my imprisonment and in defending and confirming the truth of the Good News.

“Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”
Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.””
John 11:41-44 NKJV
We’ve all seen the meme that says something about praising God in the hallway when He hasn’t yet opened the door, but why? Why should we praise Him when our miracle seems further away than ever, when each day of waiting and hoping brings more pain, more tears, more vulnerability, more wounds?
Why? Because God honors that kind of crazy faith with miracles that lift us up and carry us forward. When we love Him with abandon, He answers speedily and decisively, in ways that shock everyone but us, because we’ve already thanked Him for the miracle. Even if we haven’t reached our goal, we know we will soon.
And even though we’ve already praised Him, the very fact that He’s brought us closer to our goal makes us want to praise Him all the more. What was dead will be made alive. Praise Him in the graveyard of your broken dreams and darkest fears — and count on the miracle.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

Please and Thank You
Does it go without saying that we should follow Jesus’ example? Then, consider this: Jesus prayed before two if the biggest miracles He ever did, and He began each prayer by saying, “Thank You”.
One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?” And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. (John 6:8-9, 11 NKJV)
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying.
Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.” (John 11:41-44 NKJV)

He Will Hear Your Cry
“The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.” (Psalm 145:18-19 NKJV)
“Pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 NKJV)

It’s Okay
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)

Renewed Day By Day
For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. ( 2 Corinthians 4:15-16 NKJV)

The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV)
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16 KJV)
Our Creator rejoices over us. We make Him so glad that He sings to us up in heaven How awesome. — in the truest sense of the word — is that? The least we can do is use the gifts that He has given us to return the favor. Let our lives be songs to Him.
