Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 NLT
Note that this verse isn’t about earning salvation, the free gift that Jesus died to give us. Instead, it’s about being able to share the Gospel effectively because you understand it so well.

Brain Food
You’ve heard it before: “Stupid Christians”. You may have heard it so often that you wonder if God prefers His children to be unquestioning, naive, and dull-witted. Does God want you stupid? This morning’s posts attempt to answer that question.
Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness. And their teaching [will devour; it] will eat its way like cancer or spread like gangrene. (2 Timothy 2:15-17 AMP)
“[G]ive attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. (1 Timothy 4:13, 15-16 NKJV)

Awake In the Middle Of the Night?
Maybe Somebody wants to talk to you.
“I rise before the dawning of the morning, And cry for help; I hope in Your word. My eyes are awake through the night watches, That I may meditate on Your word.” (Psalm 119:147-148 NKJV)
“When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.” (Psalm 63:6-7 NKJV)

Changing Your Spots?
I am surprised and astonished that you are so quickly turning renegade and deserting Him Who invited and called you by the grace (unmerited favor) of Christ (the Messiah) [and that you are transferring your allegiance] to a different [even an opposition] gospel. Not that there is [or could be] any other [genuine Gospel], but there are [obviously] some who are troubling and disturbing and bewildering you [with a different kind of teaching which they offer as a gospel] and want to pervert and distort the Gospel of Christ (the Messiah) [into something which it absolutely is not]. For indeed I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but [it came to me] through a [direct] revelation [given] by Jesus Christ (the Messiah). (Galatians 1:6-7, 12 AMP)
Jesus will do the same for you when you immerse yourself in His word:
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17 NKJV)

Armor From Our Rock
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV)

If You Don’t Understand
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. ( James 1:5-8 NKJV)
This works whether school isn’t/wasn’t your thing or you’re a brainiac trying to apprehend a challenging concept. If you’re having trouble with something in the Bible, ask God to help you understand it. In fact, that’s a good prayer to pray anytime you open the Bible.

Plant the Word In Your Heart
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. (James 1:19-21 NKJV)
When the word of God is part of you, it changes your character for the better and brings you closer to God.
